TERESA PIÑA

 

Teresa Piña was born in 1961 and currently lives and works in Sabadell, a city close to Barcelona, Spain.

From an early age, she attended Sabadell's Art School, She kept aside her artistic activities in order to study Mathematics and Computer Science. Without noticing it, she found herself entirely devoted to her work and family. When turning 50 and undergoing a personal crisis, Teresa flared up painting all the emotions that she kept hidden and repressed, mainly through the Emotions collection, and painting portraits of different women she felt moved by.

When turning 55 she decided dedicate all her time to paint. She attended courses form Jafet Blanch and Alyssa Monks.

Summers 2016 and 2017 she voyaged to Africa where she inspired for the collections Touching the sky anf Making baskets

Teresa's paintings have been shown mostly in Catalonia, Spain. She has participated in art exhibitions in Matadepera (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013), Girona (2011) and Terrassa (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017). Teresa's pieces have been shown in art galleries like Artesano Gallery in Barcelona (2011), TraçDart Gallery in Sabadell (2011) and Amics de les Arts Gallery in Terrassa (2012) in casal de cultura of Matadepera (2017) and La fede at Barcelona (2017).
